The ancient Dimora Fontemaggio B&B is located in Cossignano, the navel of Piceno, in the southernmost area of the Marche’s Adriatic coast, just a few kilometers from Grottammare, the Pearl of the Adriatic, from San Benedetto del Tronto, the capital of the Riviera of the Palms, from Ascoli Piceno, by a host of historic and characteristic villages of Roman and medieval origin, and by the Sibillini Mountains National Park.
The territory and the panorama that frame Dimora Fontemaggio is typical of the hills of southern Marche: along the gentle slopes that tend toward the sea stretches lush vegetation, both spontaneous and the result of the flourishing cultivation of typical products (for example, there are countless famous vines grown in this area). Looking to the west, one seems to be able to touch the Apennines, the Sibillini mountain range, the Monti della Laga, whose peaks go over 2,000 m, and on clear days, it is even possible to see the outline of the majestic Gran Sasso. Driving along the green and quiet roads of the area, you happen to stop and admire the spectacular and unique view of the “badlands,” geomorphological formations with an almost “lunar” appearance, the result of the erosion of the specific clay structure of the territory.
Its location is therefore a guarantee of unspoiled natural spaces in which to enjoy vacations or short stays in total relaxation, but the ancient Dimora Fontemaggio is also the convenient starting point for short excursions of an eno-gastronomic nature, which will allow you to taste the exquisite typical dishes and choose from the wide variety of genuine local products.

From B&B Fontemaggio it is easy to reach the seaside resorts of Cupra Marittima and Grottammare, where you can choose between pristine and more isolated beaches or bathing establishments equipped with all services and family-sized, or those of San Benedetto del Tronto where you can dive into a cheerful and lively atmosphere in all seasons, or into the evening “movida.”
Among the countless historic centers that characterize the surroundings, we point out Ascoli Piceno, a city of art of Roman origin, which is home to numerous museums; the medieval village of Grottammare, to also enjoy a memorable view; the historic center of Offida, home of bobbin lace; Castignano and in it Templaria, the most famous medieval festival in Italy; the historic village of Castel Trosino; and the very close Ripatransone with its “narrowest alley in Italy.”
With slightly longer walks, it is possible to reach the Gran Sasso National Park, the Laga Mountains, the Frasassi Caves, Ancona, Loreto, Mondavio, Gradara Castle, and Urbino.
